About airport

Coronel FAP Francisco Secada Vignetta International Airport, also known as Iquitos International Airport, is one of the main air terminals in Peru. It has connections to the main cities in the country, with direct flights to Lima, Cuzco and Arequipa. The easiest way to get from the airport to the city is taking an authorized taxicab service and the trip takes approximately 12 minutes.

First, visit the Pilpintuwasi Butterfly Farm and Rescue Center, a place located 20 minutes from Iquitos where visitors can see and be surprised by several species of butterflies. Quistoccocha Tourist Complex is among the must-see places in the city. It offers a tour of the extensive natural forest, boat rides and a visit to the zoo located within this conservation and environmental care area. The Belen Market, the Plaza de Armas and the Malecon Tarapaca are a must on your tour around the city.

When to go Iquitos?

It is always a good time to visit the Peruvian jungle. If you are planning to travel, we recommend going between June and November, in the so-called dry season. This way you will be able to enjoy more pleasant temperatures during your stay and avoid rain.
