About Trujillo

Trujillo is a city where you can easily feel part of the history of Peru and Latin America. A few minutes from downtown, the vestiges of ancient cultures such as Chimú and Moche are hidden; in fact, here you can find Chan Chan, an adobe citadel
considered a World Cultural Heritage Site. On the other hand, the coastal zone attracts surf lovers from all over the world, as well as fans of Peruvian cuisine who want to try a good Peruvian ceviche.

About airport

The Capitan Carlos Martínez de Pinillo International Airport is located in the district of Huanchaco, just 30 minutes by taxi from the city's Main Square. It is the main entrance door for those who visit the city, so it is well connected by taxis, buses or private vehicles.  It also has cafeteria service, banks, shops, among others.  

What to do? Trujillo?

To begin with, it is essential to take a walk through the center of the city, starting with the Plaza de Armas, the cathedral and the Cathedral museum located within. You cannot miss the opportunity to see the Huaca del Sol y de la Luna which is 8 km south of the city and the Chan Chan citadel, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. For those who want to enjoy the beach, the Huanchaco resort waits for you with its famous "totora horses", traditional rafts, and perfect waves for surf lovers. 

When to go Trujillo?

During the spring-summer season temperatures are high, so many tourists prefer these months to enjoy the coastal area. However, the city and its surroundings remain attractive even if temperatures drop a little more in the middle of the year. If you want to go looking for festivities, you can't miss the National Competition De la Marinera in January, one of the biggest in Peruvian folklore.
