Starting September 24, 2024, you will be able to earn AAdvantage® miles on JetSMART flights marketed and operated from that date onward. Additionally, you can earn AAdvantage® miles on American Airlines and select partner airlines to over a thousand destinations.

You can use your AAdvantage® miles for travel on American Airlines and select partner airlines. Soon you’ll also be able to use your AAdvantage® miles on JetSMART flights.

  • Each passenger with an AAdvantage® number earns miles for the flight.
  • Miles will be reflected in each passenger's AAdvantage® account within 30 days of the flight.
  • The number of AAdvantage® miles you earn will depend on the fare you buy and your AAdvantage® status at the time of flying.

  • The calculation for miles earned is based on the price of the fare in US dollars (excluding taxes and fees). If paying with another currency, the exchange rate corresponding to the day of purchase will be used.
  • Anything else you buy like bags or seats do not earn AAdvantage® miles.

Reach AAdvantage® status when you earn Loyalty Points

Earning eligible AAdvantage® miles earns you Loyalty Points. Loyalty Points help you reach AAdvantage® status and rewards – plus, you’ll earn more miles when flying on JetSMART. The more you earn, the better your travel experience on American and eligible partner airlines. More details here

Missing AAdvantage® miles

If you purchased your JetSMART ticket before September 24th, forgot to enter your AAdvantage® number or encounter any issues with earning your miles, you can request your miles after you completed your travel in this formFor further assistance, you can also contact AAdvantage® customer service. Phone numbers here.

*After October 3rd, you will be able to add your AAdvantage number during check-in for JetSMART flights purchased before September 24. If you are traveling prior to October 3rd, you can request your missing miles after you fly. 

  • If you’re an AAdvantage® member before the flight, you have up to 12 months after your flight to request miles.
  • If you’re not an AAdvantage® member before the flight, you can join for free and request miles within 30 days of your flight

You earn AAdvantage® miles for flying an eligible ticket on American and eligible partners. Travelers earn based on the ticket cost (excluding any government-imposed taxes, fees or additions like bags or seats). Miles and Loyalty Points post to your account after you fly. If your flight is canceled or you don't travel, you will not earn miles and Loyalty Points for the flight.

Starting September 24, 2024, AAdvantage® members can earn miles and Loyalty Points for travel on JetSMART marketed and operated flights.
