FLEXIBILITY

Given the contingency that the country is facing as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the sanitary measures set forth by the different countries, we have designed the following flexibility alternatives for your trip:




If you purchased between April 21, 2021 and until June 30, 2021, and your flight has "NOT" been rescheduled or cancelled you will be able to choose between the following alternatives:

  1. Change of date without paying the "Change Fee", only paying "fare difference in case it applies. The change can be made as long as there is availability on the selected flight and up to 12 months after the original flight date.
  2. If you still do not know when to travel, you can request a refund through a JetSMART Gift Card for the same value of your purchase, to fly until June 30, 2022.
  3. Only applies to bookings with less than 10 passengers (Does not apply to group bookings). Find out about the flexibility policies for Groups HERE

To make the management of date change or refund in Gift Card JetSMART you can do it up to 1 hour before the flight. Enter HERE and manage your request easily and quickly.


If your flight was cancelled or rescheduled* you can request any of the following alternatives: If your flight was cancelled or rescheduled* you may request one of the following alternatives:

  1. You will be able to make a date change at no cost (one time only) without paying the "change fee", nor the "fare difference" to fly up to 12 months after the original flight date as long as there is availability on the selected flight. 
  2. If you still do not know when to travel, you can request a refund through a JetSMART Gift Card for the same value of your purchase, to fly until June 30, 2022 or choose one of our alternatives available in our customer service channels. 
  3. If your flight was rescheduled and you did not show up for the flight, you may request a free (one-time) change of date to fly within the following 12 months from the original flight date or a JetSMART Gift Card. To request the above or other alternatives, you may do so during the validity of the ticket, i.e. 12 months from the original flight date.

Do you fly to Balmaceda? 

You must meet the following requirements:

  • All passengers with destination to this city must comply with PCR RT test of maximum 96 hours at the entrance to the region.
  • The PCR test does not apply to children under 8 years of age.
  • Residents of Aysén may enter with PCR pending or without PCR, but must undergo quarantine until the result is obtained.
  • All persons who are going to travel must have their Health Passport, which can be obtained at www.c19.cl and is valid for 24 hours.

Are you flying to Balmaceda?

Passengers going to Balmaceda must present a negative PCR in order to fly to that region, which cannot exceed 4 (four) days from the sample taking.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS


FLIGHTS WITHIN CHILE

TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS ON FLIGHTS WITHIN CHILE

New Mobility Pass: document (pass) that certifies that a person has completed the vaccination process against COVID-19 and will allow him/her to travel in a commune in Quarantine or Transition and, therefore, also on weekends and holidays, as well as to make interregional trips between communes that are in Step 2 or higher.

The Mobility Pass will be valid from Wednesday, May 26, and consists of a QR code that can be obtained digitally or physically through the website www.mevacuno.gob.cl.

Individuals will be able to obtain this document fourteen days after completing two doses of Pfizer, Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines or purchasing the single dose of CanSino. The pass is subject to change as it will not be enabled if the person is a positive, probable or close contact case.

In the case of minors, they will be able to access the personal lifting of mobility restrictions as long as they are accompanied by their mother, father or guardian with their mobility pass enabled.

The pass is not valid for travel abroad.

Destinations with special regulations: 

All persons, whether Chilean, residents or foreigners, must comply with the following requirements:

For passengers with destination PUNTA ARENAS:

  • All passengers with destination to this city must comply with a PCR RT test of maximum 72 hours at the entrance to the region.
  • The PCR test does not apply to children under two years of age.

Exceptions to PCR are made for those persons who must travel:

  • Travel due to force majeure, death of a family member, medical emergency or cases authorized by the health authority.
  • Persons who have had COVID-19 will not be required to undergo a PCR test for three months, but must present a medical certificate.
  • All persons bound for Punta Arenas must have their Health Passport, which can be obtained at www.c19.cl and is valid for 24 hours.

For passengers departing from PUNTA ARENAS:

  • No PCR test is required to leave Punta Arenas, unless the destination is the Aysén Region. Passengers with destination to this region must comply with PCR RT exam of maximum 72 hours upon entry to the region.
  • All persons who are going to travel must have their Health Passport, which can be obtained at www.c19.cl and is valid for 24 hours.

For passengers bound for BALMACEDA:

  • All passengers with destination to this city must comply with PCR RT test of maximum 96 hours upon entry to the region.
  • The PCR test does not apply to children under 8 years of age.
  • Residents of Aysén may enter with PCR pending or without PCR, but must undergo quarantine until the result is obtained.
  • All persons who are going to travel must have their Health Passport, which can be obtained at www.c19.cl and is valid for 24 hours.

FLIGHTS TO CHILE

Last update: April 6th, 2021.

Remember that it is your responsibility to comply with all legal requirements.

IMPORTANT: As of April 4th, the borders will be closed to international flights. This measure will be in force until June 30.

Departure from CHILE 

Chileans and foreign residents must apply for a special permit from Friday, April 2nd in the virtual shirt shop, which will be answered within 48hrs.

Reasons for exceptions: These are health, humanitarian (death/serious illness of a family member), people returning after the resolution is finished, students abroad. 

Foreigners do not need any requirement to leave Chile.

Entry to CHILE

Chileans and foreign residents must comply with the sanitary measure of 5 days in a transit hotel or hotel of their choice.

In addition to having the PCR RT negative 72 hours before boarding the flight and completing the affidavit at www.c19.cl.

Infants under 2 years of age are excluded from the requirement to have a PCR.)

Minors traveling alone may be exempted from quarantine. In their case, they may carry out the quarantine at home, but the 5-day quarantine in a transit hotel is not mandatory.

The costs of the transit hotel will be paid by the passenger.

Travelers may only leave the transit hotel or the one authorized by the SEREMI after the 5th day if they have undergone a PCR test with negative results.

Travelers who have complied with the previous point will have a period of 24 hours after their departure to travel (by any public and private means) to their final destination, where they must comply with the rest of the quarantine.

For foreigners

The sanitary measure of 5 days in transit hotel must be complied with.

Authorization of the consul in the country of origin when they are countries of community transmission.

If they come from countries that do not have Covid status of community transmission they can enter without problem, for more information see list in https://covid19.who.int/table.

Infants under 2 years of age are not required to have a PCR.

Hotel transit costs will be paid by the passenger.

In addition, non-resident foreigners must have contracted health insurance in their country that provides coverage for international medical care in the event of contracting COVID19 in our country. The minimum amount of health benefits must be USD$30,000 with coverage for emergency medical assistance, hospital care, repatriation for medical reasons or death, including coverage for any expenses arising from COVID19.

The resolution allowing the entry of family members of resident aliens is suspended for the duration of the border closure.

FLIGHTS TO ARGENTINA

Last update: June 10th, 2021

Remember that in order to leave Chile you must process the travel authorization at the Virtual Police Station through the "Extraordinary Request for Travel Abroad" permit. This requirement is applicable to Chileans and Permanent Resident Foreigners.

Only Argentine citizens, foreigners with residence permits, foreigners for family reunification and other reasons expressly authorized by the Argentine National Direction of Migration are allowed to enter Argentina. 

Those who intend to enter the Argentine territory must have left Argentina before March 27, 2021. Those passengers leaving Argentina after March 27, 2021 will not be allowed to re-enter until the border closure restriction ceases.

Important: Foreigners intending to enter Argentine territory for family reunification purposes (siblings, parents, children and/or spouses of residents) must submit an official document proving the relationship, which must be legalized or apostilled, as appropriate.

All passengers, including those in transit with a stay at the airport of less than 24 hours, must submit the "Electronic Affidavit for entry to the National Territory", which must be processed through the web portal http://ddjj.migraciones.gob.ar/app/.

Additionally, with the exception of children under 6 years of age, all passengers must present a PCR Covid-19 test certificate with negative/non-detectable results issued no later than 72 hours prior to the date of travel. Exceptions are those persons who have presented COVID-19 in the 90 days prior to entering the country. To this effect, they must accredit the results of the diagnostic tests for SARS-CoV-2 and present a medical discharge certificate, which must have been issued ten days after the diagnosis.

Particularly, non-resident foreign passengers must present a medical insurance coverage valid for the entire stay, including hospitalization and isolation benefits for COVID-19.

Upon arrival in Argentina, all travelers shall:

1. Comply with a quarantine of 10 days computed from the date of taking the sample at origin.

2. Perform a test for SARS-CoV-2 upon arrival in the country and another one on the seventh day of entry as a condition for completion of the mandatory isolation. The cost of both tests shall be borne by the person entering the country, and shall be carried out in the manner established by the competent authorities.
NOTE: Those who test positive for SARS-CoV-2 upon entry into the country must undergo a PCR test for genomic sequencing, as indicated by the laboratory involved. In addition, those who have tested positive in such test and their "close contacts" must comply with the isolation in the places provided by the corresponding national authorities and destined for such purpose until the safe transfer to their place of residence, if applicable, is carried out. The stay in the aforementioned places of isolation shall be at the expense of the person entering the country, and shall be carried out in the manner established by the competent authorities.

3. To obtain the "Certificado Único Habilitante para Circular - Emergencia Covid-19" (Sole Certificate for Travel - Covid-19 Emergency) in order to move within the Argentine territory through the web portal https://www.argentina.gob.ar/circular/tramite.

Failure to comply with these requirements will be sanctioned by the National Direction of Migration of Argentina with fines imposed for infractions according to Law No. 25.871.

FLIGHTS WITHIN ARGENTINA

Mendoza (MDZ): No particular documentation is required.

Buenos Aires (AEP): Passengers intending to enter the Province of Buenos Aires for tourism purposes must submit the "Summer" Certificate, which must be processed through the web portal https://www.argentina.gob.ar/verano/certificado 48 hours before the travel date. Those passengers who travel to the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires must undergo a PCR test at the stations provided for such purpose.

Córdoba (COR): Passengers intending to enter the country for tourism purposes must submit a "Summer" Certificate, which must be processed through the web portal https://www.argentina.gob.ar/verano/certificado.

San Carlos de Bariloche (BRC): The presentation of the approved CirculaRN permit is required, which must be processed per family group through the website https://circulacionrn.rionegro.gov.ar up to 72 hours before the trip and print/show the voucher generated.

Additionally, an AFFIDAVIT must be submitted in printed format, indicating personal data and planned itinerary, accessible through the website https://www.rionegro.gov.ar/download/archivos/00014306.pdf, which must be processed no more than 24 hours prior to the flight.

As of May 3, 2021, passengers will be required to present a PCR or ANTIGENS test certificate with negative/non-detectable results, performed no more than 72 hours prior to the date of entry. Minors under ten (10) years of age traveling accompanied are exempted from presenting this certificate.

Neuquén (NQN): The presentation of the "Summer" Certificate is required, which must be processed through the web portal https://www.argentina.gob.ar/verano/certificado. Persons intending to enter the province for tourism purposes will be required to submit a proof of accommodation reservation or data of relatives or residents in the destination, comply with the documentation controls of each jurisdiction and, particularly for persons at risk and/or over 60 years of age, the presentation of a COVID-19 travel insurance or health coverage.

In the case of residents, it is necessary to provide proof of address by means of ID card, proof of accommodation reservation or data of relatives or residents at the destination and comply with the documentation controls of each jurisdiction.

Tucumán (TUC): For the entry of passengers, the presentation of the COE Tucumán affidavit through the portal https://coe.tucuman.gov.ar/regreso_a_casas/ingreso_tucuman is required. Those passengers with tourist purposes must present a proof of reservation of authorized lodging. Upon arrival, they will be subjected to a control of clinical parameters for symptoms compatible with Covid-19.

Additionally, those passengers with tourist purposes must present a tourist service or accommodation reservation and register as a sworn statement in the application "COVID-19 Province of Santa Fe" available at https://www.santafe.gob.ar/ms/covid19/aplicacion-movil-covid-19-provincia-de-santa-fe/.

Salta (SLA): Passengers intending to enter must present a "Summer" Certificate which must be processed through the web portal https://www.argentina.gob.ar/verano/certificado.

Ushuaia (USH): Passengers must present a "Summer" Certificate which must be processed through the web portal https://www.argentina.gob.ar/verano/certificado and COVID-19 travel insurance or health coverage with coverage at the destination. Additionally, those passengers with tourist purposes must present a tourist service or accommodation reservation.

Puerto Iguazú (IGR): A medical certificate stating that you do not have COVID-19 issued no more than 48 hours prior to the flight or, failing that, a rapid test or PT-PCR COVID-19 must be performed upon arrival at the airport. By presenting a proof of purchase of any tourist service, the test may be performed free of charge. Any person entering the provincial territory must use the electronic mechanisms of geolocation and self-testing established through the application "Misiones digital", available through Play Store and App Store.

El Calafate (FTE): Passengers must present "Summer" Certificate which must be processed through the web portal https://www.argentina.gob.ar/verano/certificado and COVID-19 travel insurance or health coverage with scope in the destination, except for residents of the province of Santa Cruz. Additionally, those passengers with tourist purposes must present a tourist service or accommodation reservation, complete a health affidavit and apply for a travel permit through https://circulacion.santacruz.gob.ar/.

As of 10-April-2021 passengers will be required to present a PCR or antigen negative certificate no more than 48 hours prior to the flight date.

According to the provisions of DNU 235/2021 as from April 9 and until April 30, group trips for graduates, retirees, study trips, non-official sports competitions, tourist groups and groups for recreational and social activities are suspended.


FLIGHTS TO PERU

Remember that in order to leave Chile you must process the travel authorization at the Virtual Police Station through the "Extraordinary Request for Travel Abroad" permit. This requirement is applicable to Chileans and Permanent Resident Foreigners.

Reasons for exceptions: Are health, humanitarian (death/serious illness of a family member), people returning after the resolution is finished, students abroad.

Arrival in PERU
Until May 15, the entry into Peru of non-resident foreigners from the United Kingdom, South Africa and/or Brazil, or who have made a stopover in those places in the last fourteen (14) calendar days, is suspended.

This does not apply to nationals and residents of Peru.

As from January 4, 2021, the mandatory quarantine for a period of fourteen (14) calendar days, counted from the arrival to the national territory, for all Peruvians, foreigners residing in Peru and visiting foreigners, who enter the national territory by international transport, regardless of the country of origin.
During the entire flight to Peru, passengers must wear a three-fold mask, face shield or protective goggles.

Arriving passengers: Electronic Affidavit via Migration application, negative PCR test up to 72 hours after the result was issued (Molecular Test or Antigen Test), three-fold surgical mask and mandatory face shield or protective goggles. This equipment will be checked at the counter and boarding.  Rapid tests are not accepted.

In case of passengers who have had COVID-19 must present an epidemiological and clinical discharge, accompanied by the initial diagnosis, which must be issued with more than 14 days. These documents replace the Molecular or Antigen Test.

Children up to 12 years old: PCR tests will not be required, a medical certificate of good health is sufficient. 

Departure passengers: No symptoms of COVID-19, comply with the requirements of the country of destination, mask and face shield mandatory. 

It is mandatory that passengers have their PRE Migratory Control Record before entering Peru. This can be accessed from a mobile device or at the following address: https://www.migraciones.gob.pe/preregistro/. This will generate a QR code that must be presented upon arrival in Peru.

All passengers must complete the online form "Declaración Jurada Electrónica de Salud", y compromiso para realizar el aislamiento o cuarentena del viajero (Electronic Affidavit of Health, and commitment to carry out the isolation or quarantine of the traveler) hosted on the website of the National Superintendence of Migration https://e-notificacion.migraciones.gob.pe/dj-salud/ within 72 hours prior to travel. The system will give you a QR code that shows the process. The QR code is required by the authority.


FLIGHTS TO BRAZIL

Last update: January 9th, 2021.

From December 30th all passengers to enter Brazil must have the result of a negative PCR RT test 72 hours before the flight departure. This includes nationals, residents and tourists.

The test applies to people over 12 years old. 

Additionally:

- Children under 12 years of age traveling with adults are exempt from presenting the result of the RT-PCR test, provided that all fellow travelers present a negative result of the RT-PCR test.

- Children ages 2-12 traveling alone must have a negative RT-PCR test result.

- The PCR RT test report may be in Spanish, English or Portuguese.

FLIGHTS TO COLOMBIA

Remember that in order to leave Chile you must process the travel authorization at the Virtual Police Station through the "Extraordinary Request for Travel Abroad" permit. This requirement is applicable to Chileans and Permanent Resident Foreigners.

Reasons for exceptions: health, humanitarian reasons (death/serious illness of a family member), people returning after the resolution is finished, students abroad.

Arrival in Colombia:

As of April 7th all passengers must have a PCR test 96 hours prior to boarding with negative result. Except for Colombian passengers or those who present an M, R, courtesy or diplomatic visa, who state the impossibility of taking this test. The airline must inform if these passengers chose to enter Colombia they must take a PCR test and remain in isolation or isolation for 14 days.

The PCR test applies to all persons, from zero years of age onwards.

All passengers must complete the Check Mig through Migración Colombia's web page before arriving at the airport, which can be found at: https://apps.migracioncolombia.gov.co/pre-registro/public/preregistro.jsf

  • According to the decree 1727 of December 21, 2020 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs all foreign passengers must have a ticket out of Colombia.
  • Passengers who at the time of boarding present fever or respiratory symptoms associated with covid-19 will not be allowed to board.
  • Passengers at the time of entering Colombian territory must report their health status through the "CoronaApp" application and respond to the tracking and strict monitoring made by the insurer or the health secretariat of the jurisdiction where they will stay or reside.

Furthermore, the WHO recommends:


- Practice proper hand hygiene (washing with soap or alcohol gel).

- Cover your mouth and nose with your forearm when you sneeze or cough.

- Dispose of tissues properly and clean your hands.
