FLEXIBILITY

Given the contingency that the country is facing as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the sanitary measures set forth by the different countries, we have designed the following flexibility alternatives for your trip:

If you purchased between April 21, 2021 and until September 30, 2021, and your flight has "NOT" been rescheduled or cancelled you will be able to choose between the following alternatives:
  1. Change of date without paying the "Change Fee", only paying "fare difference in case it applies. The change can be made as long as there is availability on the selected flight and up to 12 months after the original flight date.
  2. If you still do not know when to travel, you can request a refund through a JetSMART Gift Card for the same value of your purchase, to fly until June 30, 2022.
  3. Only applies to bookings with less than 10 passengers (Does not apply to group bookings). Find out about the flexibility policies for Groups HERE

To make the management of date change or refund in Gift Card JetSMART you can do it up to 1 hour before the flight. Enter HERE and manage your request easily and quickly.

Remember that when you travel you must ensure that you comply with all the requirements requested by the authorities, both for entering and leaving the country. 

If your flight was cancelled or rescheduled* you can request any of the following alternatives: If your flight was cancelled or rescheduled* you may request one of the following alternatives:
  1. You will be able to make a date change at no cost (one time only) without paying the "change fee", nor the "fare difference" to fly up to 12 months after the original flight date as long as there is availability on the selected flight. 
  2. If you still do not know when to travel, you can request a refund through a JetSMART Gift Card for the same value of your purchase, to fly until June 30, 2022 or choose one of our alternatives available in our customer service channels. 
  3. If your flight was rescheduled and you did not show up for the flight, you may request a free (one-time) change of date to fly within the following 12 months from the original flight date or a JetSMART Gift Card. To request the above or other alternatives, you may do so during the validity of the ticket, i.e. 12 months from the original flight date.

  • These tests will be required from the age of 9 years old.
  • All persons bound for Punta Arenas must have their Health Passport, which may be requested at www.c19.cl and is valid for 24 hours.

(Exempt Resolution 441 of June 8)
You must comply with the following requirements:

  • All persons entering the Aysén region must have a negative PCR RT test within a maximum of 4 days from the date the sample was taken or a negative antigen test taken in institutions authorized for this purpose and whose result may not exceed 2 days from the date the sample was taken.
  • The minimum age for these tests is 8 years old.
  • Residents of Aysén may enter with PCR pending and without negative antigen test, but must undergo quarantine until the result is obtained.
  • The Seremi of Aysén may authorize entry to the region for humanitarian reasons or force majeure to passengers who do not have the result of the PCR or antigen test will be required to comply with a quarantine of 14 days.
  • All persons who are going to travel must have their Health Passport, which can be requested at www.c19.cl and is valid for 24 hours.

This is what you should know before starting your trip.

  • Reside in communes that are in Phase 3, 4, or 5 according to the Step by Step Plan.
  • Have a Health Passport that you can process at www.c19.cl.

FLIGHTS WITHIN CHILE

TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS ON FLIGHTS WITHIN CHILE

IMPORTANT: The Government of Chile announced that, as of July 15, 2021, the only masks allowed for travel on domestic routes will be Surgical masks (three-fold or higher, such as N95 and KN95). The use of cloth masks, reusable masks, or any other unauthorized item for travel is prohibited.

As of August 13, 2021, the sanitary control will be limited to the revision of the sanitary passport by AVSEC and later by the airlines in the boarding process, authorizing boarding ONLY to those passengers who have green and yellow passports. Check HERE the types of health passports.  

Destinations with special regulations
All persons, whether Chilean, residents or foreigners, must comply with the following requirements:

For passengers destined for PUNTA ARENAS
(Resolution 1.937 of June 9th)

FLIGHTS TO CHILE

Remember that it is your responsibility to comply with all legal requirements.
As of July 25, 2021, the requirements for exit and entry to Chile are as follows:

Entry to CHILE
Entry to Chile is only allowed for nationals or permanent residents.

Entry is allowed for:

  • Foreign parents or children of a Chilean or foreigner regularly resident in the national territory, born abroad, who enter as tourists. This condition must be accredited before the controlling authority at the border, by means of the corresponding birth certificate duly apostilled or legalized at the point of origin.
  • Personnel sent to Chile by other States or international organizations to provide humanitarian aid or international cooperation duly accepted by Chile.
  • Those holding diplomatic and official visas issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile.
  • Foreigners who have a marital relationship or a Civil Union Agreement with a Chilean or foreigner regularly residing in Chilean territory, celebrated in Chile, who enter as tourists. This condition must be accredited before the border control authority by means of the corresponding certificate from the Civil Registry and Identification Service.
  • Foreigners who have a marital relationship or a Civil Union Agreement with a Chilean or foreigner regularly residing in national territory, celebrated abroad, who enter as tourists. For such purposes, they must carry a safe-conduct in accordance with the provisions of Article 66 of the Consular Regulations, and must previously present the corresponding marriage certificate or civil union agreement before the respective consulate.
  • Foreigners who, for reasons that cannot be postponed, must enter the country for business purposes, according to the provisions of the first paragraph of Article 44 of Decree Law No. 1.094, taking into account in particular the convenience or usefulness for the country. For such purposes, they shall carry a safe-conduct pursuant to the provisions of Article 66 of the Consular Regulations.
  • Persons holding a safe-conduct granted in accordance with the provisions of Article 66 of the Consular Regulations.
  • Those who are holders of diplomatic or official passports or are international civil servants, who have authorization from the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Chileans and residents in Chile must comply with:

  • Affidavit: Complete the Travelers' Affidavit form electronically at www.C19.cl up to 48 hours before boarding.
  • PCR Test. This negative result of the test may not be older than 72 hours from the time the sample was taken until the departure time of the last flight with final destination Chile in case of entering by air.
  • Quarantine for passengers with an authorized mobility pass at the time of entry into the country. Families traveling with minors must be at the same address for the whole family group. They must arrive at the declared domicile in private transportation in a maximum of 5 hours and directly from the entrance to the country.

As of September 1st the quarantine will be for 7 days.

  • If the passenger does not have a mobility pass, he/she must go to a transit hotel.
  • If the Chilean or foreign resident did not obtain his/her vaccination schedule in Chile he/she is not eligible for the mobility pass.

For foreigners:

1. The 7-day sanitary measure must be complied with in a transit hotel, the cost of which must be paid by the passenger.

2. Authorization of the consul in the country of origin when they are countries of community transmission.

3. All passengers must have a negative PCR RT 72 hours before boarding the flight and complete the affidavit at www.C19.cl.

4. Infants under 2 years of age are exempted from the PCR RT test.

5. Non-resident foreigners must have contracted health insurance in their country that provides coverage for international medical care in the event of contracting COVID19 in our country. The minimum amount of health benefits must be USD$30,000 and cover emergency medical care, hospital care, repatriation for medical reasons or death, including coverage for any expenses arising from COVID19.

6. Passengers with a foreign vaccination schedule are not eligible for home isolation.

Departure from CHILE
For Chileans and foreign residents who have the mobility pass enabled. (Does not include minors without a mobility pass) and is valid only for departing from Arturo Merino Benitez airport in Santiago.

Or Exceptional permit to leave the country*, obtained in Comisaria Virtual and approved. There are four grounds for obtaining this permit:

  1. Humanitarian character
  2. Essential steps for the traveler's health.
  3. Essential matters for the proper departure from the country.
  4. Residence abroad

*The only document valid at other airports in the country with international flights and is required for passengers on ANTOFAGASTA/CALI flights.

Reasons for exceptions: Health, humanitarian (death/serious illness of a family member), persons returning once the resolution is finished, students abroad.

Foreigners do not require any requirement to leave Chile.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PASSENGERS WITH INTERNATIONAL CONNECTIONS:

Those passengers with connecting flights with other operators in Santiago de Chile must accredit the following at the JetSMART counter: 

  • Connecting ticket no longer than 24 hours.
  • You cannot deliver baggage in hold, you can only carry carry-on baggage.
  • Documentation required to enter the destination country.
  • Passengers who do not comply with the necessary documentation requirements for final destination will not be allowed to board.
  • In case of connection to Lima, passengers must wear a surgical mask and face shield at all times.

For flights from Buenos Aires to Santiago de Chile, please be at the airport at least 4 hours before departure.

FLIGHTS TO ARGENTINA

Remember that in order to leave Chile you must consider the following:

  • Chileans and foreign residents must have the mobility pass enabled (It does not include minors without mobility pass) and it is valid only to leave Arturo Merino Benitez Airport in Santiago. 
  • If you do not have a Mobility Pass you must process the authorization or travel permit in the Virtual Police Station through the Extraordinary Request for Travel Abroad permit, this requirement is applicable to Chileans and Foreigners Permanent Residents in Chile and is the only document valid in other airports in the country with international flights and is required for passengers on flights ANTOFAGASTA-CALI.
  • If you are traveling, please consider the following: All passengers flying from Argentina must complete an affidavit available HERE prior to their trip. 

Only Argentine citizens, foreigners with a residence permit, foreigners for family reunification with Argentine natives or resident foreigners are allowed to enter Argentina. Other travelers must be expressly authorized by means of an official document issued by the National Direction of Migration.

All passengers, including those in transit with a stay at the airport of less than 24 hours, must submit the "Electronic Affidavit for entry into the National Territory", which must be processed through the web portal http://ddjj.migraciones.gob.ar/app

It is important:
Additionally, with the exception of children under 6 years of age, all passengers must present a Covid-19 PCR test certificate with negative/non-detectable results issued no later than 72 hours prior to the date of travel. Exceptions are those persons who have presented COVID-19 in the 90 days prior to entering the country. To this effect, they must accredit the results of the diagnostic tests for SARS-CoV-2 and present a medical discharge certificate, which must have been issued ten days after the diagnosis.

Particularly, non-resident foreigners who intend to enter Argentine territory for family reunification must submit a birth, marriage or cohabitation certificate apostilled/legalized, as appropriate, proving the direct link with the Argentine citizen (father, mother, child, sibling), a simple copy of the DNI of the Argentine family member, reservation of return tickets and medical assistance insurance including hospitalization and COVID-19 isolation benefits.

Upon arrival in Argentina all travelers must:

  • Comply with a compulsory isolation of 10 days computed from the date of taking the sample at origin.
  • Perform a test for SARS-CoV-2 upon arrival in the country and prior to migration, for which, in order to expedite the process, it is recommended to register on the day of the flight through the web portal: https://inuvix.com/stamboulian/app/?airport=YWVyb3B1J0byBhZ3XJvc3GFycXVl.

NOTE: The test has a cost of $2,500 Argentine pesos and can be paid by the passenger in cash, credit/debit card and Mercado Pago.

  • Perform a second test for SARS-CoV-2 on the seventh day of entry into the country as a condition for the completion of the mandatory isolation.

NOTE 1: Those who test positive in the test performed upon arrival must perform the continuation of the PCR test for genomic sequencing, according to the indication of the laboratory involved. Additionally, those who have tested positive in said test and their "close contacts" must comply with the isolation in the places provided by the corresponding national authorities and destined for such purpose until the safe transfer to their place of residence, if applicable, is carried out.

NOTE 2: Those who test negative upon arrival must comply with the mandatory isolation in the places indicated by the provincial authorities and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires for a period of seven (7) days.

The costs of the stay in the places of compulsory isolation as provided by the provincial authorities and of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires for such purpose and the cost of the tests shall be borne by the person entering the country.

Argentine natives and foreign residents who have traveled abroad for work or commercial reasons are exempted from the mandatory isolation, and for the sole purpose of resuming such activities, for which they must:

  • Proof of a complete vaccination schedule, at least 21 days prior to their entry into the country.
  • In addition to the negative PCR test at origin carried out within 72 hours prior to shipment and the antigen test required upon entry into the country, two (2) PCR tests must be carried out on the fifth and tenth day after the first test, the results of which must be negative. The cost of such tests shall be borne by the passenger.
  • To carry out their work and/or commercial activities with extreme observance of the prevention measures, for a period of ten (10) days computed from the taking of the sample of the Teseo PCR at origin.
  • To state in the affidavit the labor and/or commercial reason for the trip, the employer's data, commercial counterpart or referent of the commercial and/or labor activity in question, attaching the relevant certification and/or supporting documentation. Said documentation must be kept for its eventual exhibition.

Additionally, non-resident foreigners expressly authorized by the NATIONAL DIRECTION OF MIGRATION to carry out an essential labor or commercial activity for which they were summoned shall also be exempted from the isolation.

WARNING: When the existence of a breach of the applicable measures is detected, the Argentine State may file the relevant criminal charges and apply the relevant prison sentences.

FLIGHTS WITHIN ARGENTINA

Travel is allowed for those persons who intend to carry out activities considered essential and/or for tourism purposes. In all cases and regardless of the reason and destination of the trip, the Certificado Único Habilitante para Circulación must be obtained through the web page: https://www.argentina.gob.ar/circular/tramite.

For flights to San Carlos de Bariloche, El Calafate and flights from San Carlos de Bariloche to any destination, passengers must be at the airport counter 3 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Mendoza (MDZ): No particular documentation is required.

Buenos Aires (AEP): Passengers intending to enter the Province of Buenos Aires for tourism purposes must present the "Tourism" Certificate, which must be processed through the web portal https://www.argentina.gob.ar/circular/turismo or 48 hours before the travel date. Those passengers whose destination is the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires must undergo a PCR type test at the stations provided for such purpose.

Córdoba (COR): Passengers intending to enter for tourism purposes must present a "Tourism" Certificate, which must be processed through the web portal https://www.argentina.gob.ar/circular/turismo/cordoba.
NOTE: Tourism is suspended until July 2, 2021.

San Carlos de Bariloche (BRC): It is required to present the approved CirculaRN permit, which must be processed per family group through the website https://circulacionrn.rionegro.gov.ar up to 72 hours before the trip and print/show the generated voucher.
Additionally, an AFFIDAVIT must be submitted in printed format, indicating personal data and planned itinerary, accessible through the website https://www.rionegro.gov.ar/download/archivos/00014306.pdf, which must be processed no more than 24 hours prior to the flight.

Neuquén (NQN): It is required to present the "Tourism" Certificate, which must be processed through the web portal https://www.argentina.gob.ar/circular/turismo.
In the case of residents, it is necessary to prove domicile by means of ID card, proof of accommodation reservation or data of relatives or residents in the destination and comply with the documentation controls of each jurisdiction.

Tucumán (TUC): Passengers intending to enter for tourism purposes must present a "Tourism" Certificate, which must be processed through the web portal https://www.argentina.gob.ar/circular/turismo/tucuman. A COE Tucumán Affidavit must be submitted through the portal https://coe.tucuman.gov.ar/regreso_a_casas/ingreso_tucuman. Those passengers with tourist purposes must present a proof of authorized lodging reservation. Upon arrival, they will be subjected to a control of clinical parameters for symptoms compatible with Covid-19.

Rosario (ROS): The presentation of the "Tourism" Certificate is required, which must be processed through the web portal https://www.argentina.gob.ar/turismo/certificado. Additionally, those passengers with tourist purposes must present a tourist service or accommodation reservation and register as a sworn statement in the application "COVID-19 Province of Santa Fe" available at https://www.santafe.gob.ar/ms/covid19/aplicacion-movil-covid-19-provincia-de-santa-fe/.

Salta (SLA): Passengers intending to enter must present a "Tourism" Certificate which must be processed through the web portal https://www.argentina.gob.ar/turismo/certificado.

Ushuaia (USH): Passengers must present a "Tourism" Certificate, which must be processed through the web portal https://www.argentina.gob.ar/turismo/certificado and COVID-19 travel insurance or health coverage in the destination. Additionally, those passengers with tourist purposes must present a tourist service or accommodation reservation.

Puerto Iguazú (IGR) & Posadas (PSS): Passengers must present a "Tourism" Certificate which must be processed through the web portal https://www.argentina.gob.ar/turismo/certificado. A PCR or antigen test certificate with "negative/not detectable" result issued no more than 48 hours prior to the scheduled departure of the flight is required, except for children under 15 years of age, essential personnel and those under medical treatment.

NOTE: Upon presentation of proof of lodging reservation or tourist service contract, the test can be performed free of charge at the airport.

University students, retirees and disabled persons may be tested free of charge upon arrival. Those who do not present the test certificate may be tested upon arrival, it has a cost of $ 2,000 Argentine pesos and the passenger may pay it in cash or credit / debit card. Any person entering the provincial territory must use the electronic mechanisms of geolocation and self-test established through the application "Misiones digital", available through Play Store and App Store.

El Calafate (FTE): All passengers over 10 years of age must present a PCR or antigen test certificate with negative result performed no more than 48 hours prior to the flight date and COVID-19 travel insurance or health coverage with coverage at the destination, except for residents of the province of Santa Cruz. Additionally, those passengers with tourist purposes must present a tourist service or accommodation reservation, complete a health affidavit and apply for a travel permit through https://circulacion.santacruz.gob.ar/.

Corrientes (CNQ): A vaccination certificate, epidemiological discharge certificate or PCR or antigen test certificate with a "negative/not detectable" result performed no more than 48 hours prior to the scheduled departure of the flight is required. Those passengers whose purpose of entry is tourism may choose to be tested at the airport free of charge, for which they must present a proof of accommodation reservation. Except for minors under 16 years of age, all passengers must obtain an entry permit through the web portal https://permisos.corrientes.gob.ar/turismo.

Comodoro Rivadavia (CRD): Passengers must present "Tourism" Certificate which must be processed through the web portal https://www.argentina.gob.ar/turismo/certificado, CUIDAR application and COVID-19 travel insurance or health coverage at destination. It is also required to present a PCR or antigen test certificate with a "negative/not detectable" result performed no more than 72 hours prior to the scheduled departure of the flight. Additionally, an accommodation reservation or details of the resident where the applicant intends to stay must be submitted.

Jujuy (JUJ): Passengers intending to enter for tourism purposes must present a "Tourism" Certificate, which must be processed through the web portal https://www.argentina.gob.ar/circular/turismo/jujuy.

FLIGHTS TO PERU

Remember that in order to leave Chile you must consider the following:

Chileans and foreign residents must have the mobility pass enabled (It does not include minors without mobility pass) and it is valid only to leave Arturo Merino Benitez Airport in Santiago. 

If you do not have a Mobility Pass you must process the authorization or travel permit in the Virtual Police Station through the Extraordinary Request for Travel Abroad permit, this requirement is applicable to Chileans and Foreigners Permanent Residents in Chile and is the only document valid in other airports in the country with international flights and is required for passengers on flights ANTOFAGASTA-CALI.

Arrival in PERU
Passengers may not enter if they have been in or transited through South Africa within the last 14 days.

Important considerations for your entry to Peru:

PCR Test

  • Passengers must have a negative PCR test result issued within 72 hours prior to departure. 
  • For those passengers who have had covid 19, they may present a valid epidemiological medical discharge certificate in the period up to 3 months prior to arrival in Peru or a certificate of good health.
  • This does not apply to passengers under 12 years of age, who must present a medical certificate of good health.

Masks

  • All passengers must wear double masks both at the airport and on the aircraft on flights to and from Peru.
  • The face shield is optional.

Quarantine

  • 14 days upon arrival in Peru.
  • This does not apply to passengers if they take a Covid-19 test upon arrival and receive a negative result.

Medical Insurance

  • Not required

Health Declaration

  • Required.
  • Declaration must be made at https://e-notificacion.migraciones.gob.pe/dj-salud/ 
  • Passengers may not travel if they do not present a QR code confirming that they have submitted a "Health Affidavit and Geolocation Authorization" at least 48 hours prior to travel to Peru, or complete a "Traveler's Health Affidavit" form (Traveler's Health Affidavit) prior to arrival.
  • It is recommended to attach the test result in pdf or image format.

FLIGHTS TO BRAZIL

Remember that in order to leave Chile you must consider the following:

Chileans and foreign residents must have the mobility pass enabled (It does not include minors without mobility pass) and it is valid only to leave Arturo Merino Benitez Airport in Santiago. 

If you do not have a Mobility Pass you must process the authorization or travel permit in the Virtual Police Station through the Extraordinary Request for Travel Abroad permit, this requirement is applicable to Chileans and Foreigners Permanent Residents in Chile and is the only document valid in other airports in the country with international flights and is required for passengers on flights ANTOFAGASTA-CALI.

Entry to Brazil:

Passengers coming from South Africa, United Kingdom or India are not allowed to enter Brazil.

Passengers who have traveled to India, South Africa or the United Kingdom in the last 14 days will have their permission to board the flight to Brazil suspended.

This does not apply to:

  • Nationals and foreigners residing in Brazil.
  • Spouses, partners, children, parents or guardians of Brazilian citizens;
  • Passengers whose entry has been authorized by the Brazilian government for humanitarian reasons or in the public interest;
  • Passengers with National Migration Registration;
  • Personnel of international organizations;
  • Foreign employees accredited to the Brazilian Government;
  • Crew members

PCR Test

  • Passengers traveling to Brazil will be denied boarding if they do not possess a document confirming a negative Covid-19 RT-PCR test result issued within 72 hours prior to departure.
  • The testing requirement does not apply to the following passengers:
  • Passengers 1 year of age or younger
  • Passengers 11 years of age or younger, provided they are accompanied by someone with a negative RT-PCR test result.
  • Passengers in transit through Brazil, as long as they do not leave the international transit area of the airport.
  • Air crew members, provided they remain in the hotel room during their stay.

Health Declaration

  • Attendees must have a completed online Traveler's Health Declaration (Declaração de Saúde do Viajante - DSV). The form can be accessed here
  • This does not apply to passengers in transit through Brazil, as long as they do not leave the international transit area of the airport.

Important:

  • According to decree 1727 of December 21, 2020 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs all foreign passengers must have a must have a ticket out of Colombia.
  • Passengers who at the time of boarding present fever or respiratory symptoms associated with covid-19 will not be allowed to board.
  • Passengers at the time of entering Colombian territory must report their health status through the "CoronaApp" application and respond to the tracking and strict monitoring made by the insurer or the health secretariat of the jurisdiction where they will stay or reside.

Entry Restrictions

  • Only passengers who have been in India within the last 14 days.
  • This does not apply to Colombian nationals, as long as they travel on a humanitarian flight;
  • Permanent residents of Colombia, as long as they have a type R visa and are traveling on a humanitarian flight;
  • Passengers holding a type R or M visa;
  • Diplomats and their dependents arriving from India on a type R or M visa; or
  • Flight crew members.

According to Resolution 2231 of June 9, 2021 referring to entry, transit, stay and exit from Colombian territory, Venezuelan nationals holding an expired passport may enter, transit, stay and exit Colombian territory by presenting their Venezuelan passport even if it has expired. The expired Venezuelan passport may be used during the following 10 years, counted from the expiration date of the passport or extension stamped thereon.
